I already have a heat pump. Can I qualify?
Yes, replacing an existing heat pump is now an eligible type of project. You still need to meet the household, equipment, and program approval requirements. An older system alone does not guarantee a rebate.
What if my home has a gas furnace?
Replacing or removing a gas furnace in a gas-to-electric conversion is no longer eligible. The program can allow a heat pump added alongside a furnace that stays in place. Reeis can assess whether that option makes sense for your home.
How do I know which income tier I’m in?
The program uses total gross household income, before taxes and deductions, together with household size and county. Start the check and our team will help confirm your tier against the current program requirements.
Do I pay up front and wait for a check?
Your approved rebate is deducted from the contractor invoice. You are responsible for any costs remaining after the rebate. Your written quote will show the amounts before you agree to the work.
What if my electrical panel needs an upgrade?
An eligible project may include up to $4,000 for an electrical panel and up to $2,500 for wiring needed to support the rebated appliance. Insulation and air sealing may qualify for up to $1,600, plus up to $500 in utility rebates. The HEAR household limit is $14,000, with up to $2,000 in separate utility rebates for qualifying projects, subject to provider rules and approval.
I rent my home. Can I use this program?
The current program phase is for homeowners who live in the home. Renters and rental-property owners are not currently eligible.
How long will rebates be available?
Program rebates are available through 2031, subject to funding. That is not a guarantee that funds will remain available for your project. Eligibility and a project reservation need to be confirmed before installation.
Does any new heat pump qualify?
No. The new model must meet the program’s equipment requirements. Your home assessment may also identify required insulation or air-sealing work. Reeis will explain the scope before you commit.
